Must-Have Items for Your Trip
Beach Gear Must-Haves
-
High-SPF Sunscreen – Protection is a must! Instead of protecting just yourself, protect the reefs too. We use this suncream as its reef safe and you get three bottles making them great value for money
-
Water Shoes – Great for rocky beaches and waterparks due to their hard soles. True to size, these are the best we have used.
-
Travel Towel – You can get these with your cruise card on the island or can carry them off the ship, but dont forget them when you return.
Capture Every Moment
-
Waterproof Phone Case – Essential for slides & ocean. These ones are cheap, work as needed and you get two in a pack. Well worth the price to save your phone.
-
Underwater Camera DJI/GoPro – Perfect for snorkeling & slides. For our vlogs on YouTube, we use the DJI Osmo Action 4 which is waterproof also. We personally prefer this over the GoPro as you can use for action or as a standard camera. At time of writing the DJI is reduced by €120 through the above link so buy quickly!
Beach Comfort Add-Ons
-
Beach Hat + Sunglasses – Sun protection meets style. These are personal choice so the links show a selection of styles for you to choose. We would recommend a cheap pair of sunglasses for the island and keep the designer ones for the ship.
-
Portable Cooler Bag – There are plenty of drinks stations on the island, but if you dont want to keep going back and forth and just want to settle down on your lounger for the day, buy one of these cheap bags to keeps drinks chilled on the sand. The one we use is less than €10
Final Tips for First-Timers
-
Arrive early for the best beach chairs & lagoons.
-
Reserve paid experiences in advance — especially cabanas.
-
Hydrate often — it gets HOT in the Bahamas!
-
Bring your sun-protection kit, including SPF, hat, shades, and cover-ups.
